Question 1

Is Bossholes really anonymous?

Accepted Answer

Yes. No account, no email, no name. We store nothing that identifies you. A review cannot be traced back to the person who wrote it, by us or anyone else.

Question 2

How are grades calculated?

Accepted Answer

By formula, never by a person. Your structured answers score each review 0 to 100, scores are averaged with a statistical prior pulling toward 50, and the result maps to A through F. Free text never affects the score.

Question 3

Why do some companies say Insufficient data?

Accepted Answer

A grade only appears once a company has 5 published reviews. One angry review cannot tank a company and one fake rave cannot save it.

Question 4

Can a company pay to remove bad reviews?

Accepted Answer

No. Grades cannot be bought, edited, or negotiated. Companies can submit a takedown request if a review is false or abusive, and each request is reviewed against the same rules as everyone else's.

Question 5

Can I name my boss?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Bad boss reviews include the boss's name and title, shown publicly. Say what you personally experienced and can stand behind.

Question 6

Where does the layoff data come from?

Accepted Answer

Public records. Companies are required to file layoff notices with state governments under the WARN Act, and we ingest those filings directly.
